What are the best things to do in Glacier National Park?

My wife’s family lives in Montana and they’re fairly close to Glacier National Park. I’ve never been there before, so I decided to plan a trip for a few days. What are some of the best things to do in Glacier National Park?

Montana
has no shortage of scenic spots, but Glacier National Park is perhaps the mecca of them all. Featuring tons of hiking, outdoor activities, and stunning backdrops, it’s one place people from around the globe put on their bucket lists. To make the most of your trip, here are the best things to do in Glacier National Park:
  • Canoe around Lake McDonald. Framed by snowcapped mountains, this glacial lake is one of the most iconic landscapes in the entire park. Rent a boat or a canoe and head to the south end of the lake to get those Instagram-worthy views.
  • Drive Going-to-the-Sun Road. Stretching along 50 miles at heights of up to 6,600 feet above sea level, the name of this road says it all. Pack a picnic lunch, find a great spot, and enjoy the views.
  • Soak in the scenery at Grinnell Glacier. The vibrant blue color of the glacial lake surrounded by jagged peaks makes for some spectacular picture opportunities, although hiking is the most popular activity. Choose from trails ranging from about a mile to 10.6 miles, depending on your level of adventure.
Glacier National Park is remote, so adding
towing and labor coverage
to your car insurance policy is a smart move. To compare rates for this optional coverage or to upgrade your car insurance before the trip, make sure to use the
