I moved to Dallas for work about a year ago, but I’ve never taken the time to check out Fort Worth. Some of my friends say it’s a nice weekend staycation, so I’m going to get a hotel room for my home base and drive to the attractions. What are some of the best things to do in Fort Worth?

While Dallas gets the lion’s share of attention for tourism in the area, Forth Worth is a quintessential spot to soak in the culture of

. During your weekend stay, make sure to check out some of the best things to do in Fort Worth:- Go to the Fort Worth Stockyards. If you’re lucky enough to visit in late January or early February, you can attend the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. Held every year since 1896, the show is a throwback to turn-of-the-century Texas. Any other time of the year, you can explore the museum, take a train ride, or check out a shooting show.
- Visit the Kimbell Art Museum. Built in 1972, this art museum is worth the visit based on architecture alone. The use of lighting and 16 parallel vaults are unlike any other building in the country. And with extensive collections of Asian and European art, you can get a little extra culture.
- Explore the Cowgirl Hall of Fame. Established in 1975, the National Cowgirl Hall of Fame has exhibits, photographs, and a library entirely dedicated to the accomplishments of cowgirls throughout Texas.
