I love learning about American cities and Detroit is one that always seems to come up in my casual research. I’ve never been to Motor City before, but I want to drive up from Indy sometime this summer. What are some of the best things to do in Detroit?

Located in the heart of the city, Eastern Market is a popular place to buy food, souvenirs, flowers, or knick-knacks. The market welcomes 40,000 visitors on Saturdays, but the Sunday and Tuesday markets offer the opportunity to shop without the crowds.
- Visit Belle Isle Park. As one of the only island parks in a major U.S. city, Belle Isle is 982 acres of urban beauty. Head to the aquarium, conservatory, and nature center, or head to the south side of the island for views of Canada.
