The snow is falling and I can’t wait to head out to the mountains and hit the slopes! This will be my first winter with my new Subaru, and I want to get some new chains before I hit the road. What are the best snow chains for a Subaru Forester?

But here’s the thing: snow chains cannot be used on a newer
Subaru Forester
due to the lack of clearance between the tires and the body of the vehicle. But don’t despair—you can still take your Forester up the mountain! Subaru’s symmetrical all-wheel drive and different driving modes give you the ability to tackle almost any kind of terrain. If you are driving somewhere that requires you to have some type of additional traction device in the snow, check with your Subaru dealership to see what’s okay to use with your Forester.
Alternatively, you can get a set of snow tires for your Forester, which might be a good investment to make for the ski season. And don’t forget to make sure your
car insurance
is ready for the winter months as well—perhaps with some towing and labor coverage
