: - Snow cables come in different materials. Most snow cables are made of steel wrapped in alloy coils, although that protective coating can vary.
- Snow cables provide different traction than snow chains. If you’re looking for heavy-duty, non-slip traction, steel snow chains may be a better fit—although they’re generally harder to install than snow cables and better for vehicles with 2WD (the Outback comes standard with 4WD).
