I finally took the plunge and moved to Colorado. I’ve had the fortune of exploring most of Denver, but I haven’t really ventured out all that much. This summer, I plan to do some exploration—what are some of the best road trip destinations in Colorado?

Fortunately for you, Colorado is jam-packed with road trips in nearly every corner of the state. While most of its attractions are outdoors, even a person who likes the indoors can appreciate them. Here are some of the best road trip destinations in Colorado to add to your list:
- Peak to Peak Highway: If you don’t have time to venture too far from Denver, add this highway to the top of your list. Going from Estes Park to Blackhawk, you’ll pass ghost towns, breathtaking scenery, and get a close-up look at the Continental Divide.
- Trail Ridge Road: Also known as U.S. Highway 34, this stretch of highway is often regarded as one of the most beautiful drives in the country. Pack a lunch, find some scenery, and enjoy the ride!
- Glenwood Springs: Give yourself a bit of R&R in Glenwood Springs. Home to more hot springs and bathhouses than anywhere in Colorado, the town also has a quaint, adorable little downtown where you can grab a few souvenirs at the same time.
