The best places to live in Orlando
are Winter Park, Maitland, Winter Garden, and Baldwin Park. Winter Park:
Just a 12-minute hop, skip, and jump from downtown, Winter Park feels miles away from Orlando’s major tourist spots. You’ll find bricked streets, large estates, tranquil lakes, and immaculate golf courses. There are more than a few multimillion-dollar homes but also modest single-family homes and comfortable bungalows. You’ll have easy access to the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of Art, as well as all the dining and shopping on historic Park Avenue and Hannibal Square.
Maitland:
For more of a suburban feel, head to Maitland, which sits on Winter Park’s edge along the I-4 corridor. It is a perfect spot for families, featuring ranch-style abodes, condominium units, and apartments. Here, you’ll gain access to a slew of public parks, lakes with boat ramps, and playgrounds. Maitland is also home to the annual Florida Film Festival.
Winter Garden:
Located west of downtown, Winter Garden offers quiet and solitude with its many gated communities. In downtown Winter Garden, stroll cobblestone streets and dine in old-timey Florida
restaurants. Walk or bike the West Orange Trail, and spend your weekends fishing on Lake Apopka. Baldwin Park:
The newer community of Baldwin Park features homes for sale, as well as for rent. The neighborhood is built on land that used to be a U.S. Naval base. Today, you’ll find bike lanes, gorgeous tree-lined stress, and the 23-acre Lake Baldwin Park, which is dog-friendly. This community is still very much in its growth stage and is a great place for families to put down roots.
