What are the best places to live in New York?

I’m moving to New York City for school and I’m looking for the best neighborhoods in the city. Where will I be safe but also close to Manhattan so I can go on day trips there?

There are a lot of cool neighborhoods in NYC, but not all of them are safe. Some of the best, safest places to live in
New York, New York
 are:
  • SoHo
  • Gramercy
  • Prospect Heights
  • Brooklyn Heights
  • Greenwich Village
  • Flatiron District
  • Hell’s Kitchen
  • NoHo
Of course, there are lots of other great neighborhoods in the city to check out, but these are some of the ones with the lowest crime rates. You may want to consider the location of your school before choosing a neighborhood, however, since different parts of the city may require a longer commute—even by train!
