There are plenty of wonderful neighborhoods in
Florida
to call home, but the best places to live in Miami are Coconut Grove, Aventura, Key Biscayne, and Pinecrest.
Coconut Grove: The bohemian neighborhood of Coconut Grove is a mixed community, both economically and ethnically, while offering some of the best living in South Florida. This clean, safe, and quaint neighborhood offers excellent schools, quirky restaurants, eclectic bars, and lots of nightlife spots. Stroll the Cocowalk Outdoor Shopping Center, browse the Saturday Farmers Market, and enjoy the annual Coconut Grove Art Festival.
Aventura: A more diverse suburb, Aventura is known for its low crime, good schools, beautiful parks, incredible library, and of course the famous Aventura Mall. On the weekends, traipse across the Intracoastal Waterway and enjoy Sunny Isles Beach with its gorgeous white sand. Homes are modestly priced here (relatively speaking), with ample single-family homes available.
Key Biscayne: The neighborhood of Key Biscayne is sandwiched between two state parks—Billy Baggs State Park to the south and Crandon State Park to the north—on an island south of Miami Beach and east of Miami proper. Even on an island, Key Biscayne is close to downtown but still feels like a tropical oasis. Locals are known to walk, bike, or even golf-cart around this stunning neighborhood, patronizing independent businesses, supermarkets, and pharmacies on Crandon Avenue. Snorkeling, paddleboarding, and fishing are popular here, as are the calm waters and picture-perfect white sand.
Pinecrest: A more traditional neighborhood, Pinecrest is well-maintained with tranquil streets and beautiful homes. The spectacular Pinecrest Gardens is the area’s hub, where you can stroll through tropical parkland before getting your week’s groceries from the farmer’s market. The shopping on U.S.-1 will provide what you need, but nearby Coral Gables offers more, such as its Miracle Mile and the Shops at Merrick Park.
