Ever since I visited Charleston, I’ve dreamed of living there. While I know certain parts of the city are super expensive or passed down through generations, I thought the city might have other options. What are some of the best places to live in Charleston?

is a true gem — one with history, culture, and the indescribable Southern charm. While moving to certain areas is certainly expensive, you can still find something more affordable if you know where to look. Here are some of the best places to live in Charleston:- South of Broad: While the prices in South of Broad are a tad on the high side, you might be able to find a fixer-upper that fits your budget. Along with colonial architecture, this neighborhood is just south of downtown, which offers access to restaurants, shops, and all that makes Charleston famous.
- Mount Pleasant: A perfect destination for both families and singles alike, Mount Pleasant is the fastest-growing neighborhood in all of Charleston. It has a mix of chains and locally-owned shops, which provides a mix of convenience and support for local businesses.
- Harleston Village: Offering a mix of quiet residential streets with restaurants, bars, nightlife, and more, Harleston Village is the best of both worlds. King Street has some of the best shopping in the city while Broad Street offers a great opportunity for a jog or a leisurely walk.
