I live in Seattle, and I’m looking for some outdoor adventures this summer. What are the best outdoorsy things to do in Washington State?

There are so many amazing outdoor activities to do in
Washington State
that your biggest problem will be deciding what to do first!Here’s a list of the best outdoor activities Washington State has to offer:
- Mountain climbing. Take a day to climb one of Washington State’s majestic mountains, including Mount Adams, Mount Rainier, and the famous Mount St. Helens—an active volcano.
- Whale-watching. Go on a whale-watching excursion near the San Juan Islands. You might also see seals, porpoises, otters, and more!
- Ziplining. Travel an hour north ofSeattletoCamano Islandwhere you can zipline through the forest canopy before going on a hike or doing some ax throwing.
- River rafting. Head to Riverside Park near Cashmere, WA for an exhilarating whitewater adventure.
For most of these activities, you’ll need to trek into the wilderness a bit. Make sure that you know your route beforehand and bring snacks and water for the road. You might also want to make sure that you have a plan in case you encounter car trouble on the way there or back.
