What are the best national parks to visit in September?
I have about a month of PTO built up that goes away if I don’t spend it by the end of September. As a result, I’m going to take the entire month of September to visit national parks. What are some of the best national parks to visit in September?

Getting paid for a month to tour the national parks of the U.S. is amazing! Keep in mind that 40 of the country’s 63 national parks are out West and only 11 are east of the Mississippi River. Here are some of the best national parks to visit in September:
- Yellowstone National Park: The temperatures can get cold during this time of the year, but the crowds are much smaller. Make the trip to see Old Faithful, the Grand Prismatic Hot Spring, and the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone.
- Grand Teton National Park: Located just 50 miles from Yellowstone, the Grand Tetons have some of the best fall foliage you’ll ever see. On top of that, the highs are in the 70s and you won’t have to worry about crowds.
- Canyonlands National Park and Arches National Park: Situated in the eastern part ofUtah, Canyonlands and Arches are only 45 minutes away from each other, allowing you to visit both this September. During this time, the weather is perfect for hiking and you can avoid the 100-degree heat that hits the area for much of the summer.
