What are some of the best outdoor activities in Tampa?
My boyfriend and I are going to Tampa this winter on vacation. Being from the Northeast, we want to soak up as much Florida sun as possible. What are some great outdoor activities?

, you’ll find no shortage of sunshine. Some of the best outdoor activities in Tampa include water biking, stand-up paddleboarding, and hitting the Ballast Point Park & Pier.Here are eight activities that will get you out of the hotel and into the sun. (Just don’t forget your SPF!):
1. The Tampa Riverwalk. This scenic trail is a great way to explore the downtown waterfront, and it connects most of the city’s most popular attractions, parks, and restaurants. You can walk, jog, rollerblade, or bike along the 2.6-mile path!
2. Tampa Bay Water Bikes. You’ll find these adorable waterbikes located on the public docks adjacent to the Convention Center. This is an easy way to get some cardio in while taking in Tampa’s iconic landmarks—from the water!
3. eBoats Tampa. If you’d rather explore Tampa’s harbor via a motorized vehicle, eBoats offer a charming option. Even better, these 21-foot boats are eco-friendly, quiet, and easy to operate. Drive them yourself or spring for a captain.
4. Urban Kai SUP. Another great way to hit the water is with a stand-up paddleboard! Rent them from Urban Kai, located on the Riverwalk at the Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel.
5. Ballast Point Park & Pier. Soak in the gorgeous downtown skyline and views of the Davis Islands while you try your hand at fishing off of the pier.
6. Empower Adventures. Take on five zip lines, a 200-foot above-water suspension bridge, rope bridges, log swings, and more at this adrenaline-pumping adventure park.
7. Florida Beach Horses. There’s nothing more romantic than a couple’s horseback ride along the beach!
8. Ruskin Family Drive-In. Watch a movie the old-fashioned way—under the stars! Admission to this outdoor theater is under $10 per person for two showings.
