The Honda Clarity is a pretty solid car by most accounts, but it does have some common issues that people have reported. They include the display screen freezing up, as well as some onboard tools, such as the GPS system, voice control commands, radio, DVD player and camera sensors all glitching out. The headlights for some drivers have also been an issue, where they report that the high beams don’t project far enough at night—but this issue, like most listed, is covered under warranty.
The backup camera has also been listed as a common issue. Sometimes the video quality is poor, becomes frozen, or simply doesn’t appear at all. Warning lights for the Honda Clarity hybrid also flash, despite there being no need for them to appear. This can psych out drivers a little bit, but this issue can usually be mended by having a dealership technician reset the onboard computer that controls the car’s sensors.
