What are front air shocks?

I’ve been trying to get a better understanding of car parts and modifications so I can do some repairs at home. I’ve heard of front shocks, but what are front air shocks?

Great question! Front air shocks, which are commonly found on trucks and SUVs that frequently carry heavy loads, level your car and restore its original ride height. By changing how much air is in the shock, the ride height can be changed to match the weight of the load the vehicle is hauling.
Air shocks are often lighter than standard shocks, more easily tunable (being able to alter their spring load via a shock pump rather than a new coil spring), and function well with practically any suspension linkage.
