The Lexus IS 250: how many cylinders does it have?

My neighbor wants to sell his Lexus IS 250. After inspecting the interior and exterior, it’s in pristine condition and he has all of the mechanic bills to back up his meticulous service. My only issue is that I’m not exactly sure what lies under the hood—how many cylinders does the Lexus IS 350 have?

It’s good to check off all the boxes when deciding if you’re going to buy a used vehicle. During its run from 2006 to 2015, the Lexus IS 250 had six cylinders. If you pop the hood, you would find a 2.5-liter V6 engine that provides up to 204 horsepower and up to 185 pound-feet of torque.
While the car itself was light and the engine was cheap to maintain, the engine seemed a bit underpowered and sluggish compared to other options.
In 2016, Lexus replaced the IS 250 with the
Lexus IS 200t
, which offered a 2.0-liter turbo-four with 241 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. So if you’re torn between the two options in the future and you want the added power, that might be the better option.
If you decide to buy the Lexus IS 250, don’t be afraid to take it for a spin on the highway and see how powerful it really is. Just make sure you don’t get a
speeding ticket
