Should I use a Toyota Tacoma car cover while out of town?
I’m going out of town for two months, and I’m wondering if it’s a good idea to get a car cover for my Toyota Tacoma. How much is a Toyota Tacoma car cover, and should I use one?

car cover could be a great or terrible idea depending on where you’re parking your truck.First, the cost. A good Toyota Tacoma car cover will set you back around $100 to $300. Lower-cost covers can be found for as little as $50. While you generally do get what you pay for, we suggest getting a cheaper cover if you’re storing the truck indoors.
Having said that, we strongly recommend storing your Toyota Tacoma indoors in a garage or a storage unit if that’s an option. Car covers are not ideal for long-term storage outdoors, and can do more damage to your car than the weather might.
Car covers—yes, even the fancy custom-fit ones—can trap moisture between the car and the cover itself, which can do some real damage. And in cold weather, the cover can firm up quite a bit, which means you now have a hard surface sitting against your car. It just takes a little wind at that point to ruin your paint job, and your day along with it.
If parking indoors is an option, we highly recommend doing that. Outdoor car covers are good for a few days, but we don’t suggest using them longer. And if it rains or snows, it’s a good idea to remove the cover as soon as possible.
