Should I take out a supplemental liability insurance policy if I don't have car insurance and I'm renting through Hertz?

I was planning on taking a three-week trip, but I'm worried about insurance coverage. Should I take the supplemental liability insurance from Hertz, or do I have other options?

If you’re renting a car through Hertz without your own car insurance policy, you have several options, including:
  1. Take Hertz’s supplemental
    liability coverage
: It covers you for up to $1 million in both property damage and bodily injury.
  2. Get
    non owners car insurance
with the same coverage limits as the Hertz policy: This can be a good option if you rent or borrow cars on a semi-regular basis.
  3. Check your credit card benefits: Most major credit card companies offer rental car insurance as a perk for certain cards.
You’ll have to do some math to find out which you’ll pay less for, but to help you decide, always check
car insurance quotes online
to get the best rates.
