Should I rent a car in Seattle?

I’m going to be in Seattle for about a week for work. I do want to see at least some of the city while I’m there, so should I rent a car?

Seattle
is home to some of the
gnarliest traffic
in the nation, so it’s best to avoid it if you can. You shouldn’t rent a car in Seattle, as most visitors find they can get around much more easily on foot or using public transportation.
If you do find that you want to visit some of the outlying areas of Seattle for an evening or an afternoon, you can easily use a car-sharing service, like
Zipcar
, for an hourly rather than daily rental.
If you do decide to rent a car for your Seattle stay, be sure to reserve it in advance and check to make sure you have
rental car insurance
either through your insurance provider or a credit card.
If you don’t have coverage, or you’re not sure it’s the best, let
