Should I leave the window cracked after a windshield replacement?

My cousin is a mechanic and advised me to leave my window open after I got a new windshield. The installation technician said nothing about this. Should I leave the window cracked after a windshield replacement?

Yes, it’s helpful to leave a window cracked after a windshield replacement—at least for the first 24 hours.
The reason to leave a window cracked is to keep the air pressure from causing leaks, due to the extra stress put on the car glass seal as it settles. This is especially important in hot weather. A small opening in the window is enough to relieve the pressure!
Remember, don’t clean the area with any solvents for the first three days after windshield installation.
