On an Audi Q3, how do you check the tire pressure?

I’ve heard that the gauges in my Audi Q3 can measure my tire pressure somehow, but I can’t figure out how it works. How can I check my tire pressure?

Your Audi Q3’s Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) will let you know if your tire pressure is too low by illuminating a light on your dashboard. But here’s how to check your tire pressure manually:
  • Confirm the proper tire pressure in your owner’s manual or on a sticker on the driver’s side door frame. For most Q3 models, this will be between 32 and 33 psi for all tires.
  • Unscrew the valve stem cap from the tire, then place a
    tire pressure gauge
onto the valve stem. This will show the individual tire’s reading.
  • Repeat the process for each tire.
  • Depending on the readings you get, you can add or remove air to adjust the tire pressure.
Your Multi-Media Interface (MMI) may show you relative pressures for your tires, too. These readings will depend on what you input as the correct pressure. In some cases, the MMI may also alert you to a specific tire, but it might be at a critical point by then.
Keeping up with routine maintenance like tire pressure can help prevent unnecessary (and expensive!) repairs or car accidents. Another good way to save money?
