What happens if someone is in a not-at-fault car wreck?

How does it work if someone is in a wreck, but they’re not at fault, and both drivers have $50,000 in liability insurance?

I’m sorry to hear about the wreck, and I hope everyone is safe!
In this situation, the at-fault driver’s
liability insurance
will be used to pay the cost of the not-at-fault driver’s medical bills and repairs.
Suppose the total cost of the medical bills and repairs exceeds the $50,000 policy limit. In that case, the at-fault driver is responsible for paying the remaining costs out of pocket and can be brought to court if necessary.
Additionally, because liability insurance is designed to protect others on the road and cannot be used to cover personal medical bills or repairs, the not-at-fault driver’s $50,000 limit will not be used.
It should also be noted that
a no-fault accident does go on your driving record
but the
car insurance
company will decide whether or not to increase the rate.
