Is woodworm damage covered by home insurance?
No idea how this happened, but we’ve got a woodworm infestation in our attic. So gross! My family needs to get this handled ASAP. Would woodworm damage be covered by our homeowners insurance?

Woodworm damage is considered a pest and most insurers exclude insects, rodents, or vermin from coverage.

companies consider infestations or damage from pests to be a preventable cause. To insurance, it was due to a lack of maintenance or care that caused the issue. The best thing you can do is get the issue taken care of as soon as possible to prevent further damage. Should you not, you run the risk of your home insurance policy cancelling due to neglect.
