Is there a way to prevent squirrels from nesting under the hood of a car?

I have a classic car that I have parked in an unattached car on my property. However, squirrels keep nesting under the hood, especially in winter. How can I keep these pesky rodents from getting in there?

Squirrels can be cute from a distance, but not from under the hood of your car! Luckily, getting rid of them is easy: one of the most common remedies to get squirrels out from under the hood of your car is to use mothballs. Squirrels don’t like the smell, and oftentimes, it’s enough to shoo them away!
If that doesn’t work, you can open your hood for a few days and remove any nesting materials as they appear. This should also help eliminate the problem if you can’t drive your car regularly.
In most cases,
extended warranties
won’t cover damage from squirrels, so you will likely be footing the bill for any repairs.
If you want to save money in other ways while you fix up your car, it’s always worthwhile to review your insurance policy. The easiest way to do this is through the
