The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website doesn’t list any recalls or pending investigations relating to a 2017 Honda Civic brake system problem where the car won’t start.
However, it’s certainly plausible that a problem with your brakes could affect your ability to start your car if it’s equipped with a push-button start system.
If you cannot turn on other features without your engine running, like your stereo system or your headlights, there’s possibly a problem with your battery.
