Is the Mercedes warranty worth it?

I like the idea of a warranty, but it feels like so much money to be paying for things that might not even go wrong in my car.

Whether the
Mercedes
warranty is worth it depends on how comfortable you are with risk.
Remember that all new Mercedes vehicles come with the Mercedes-Benz New Vehicle Limited Warranty, which covers your car for 4 years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first. The extended limited warranty for your Mercedes-Benz covers the same components as the factory warranty, but extends coverage for an additional one, two, or three years. The Mercedes extended warranty runs from about $2,000 to $8,000.
Warranties only cover defective components of your car. That means if a component in your car starts malfunctioning because, say, you forgot to change your oil or you got into a car crash, those repairs will not be covered by your warranty.
It’s hard to say whether or not the Mercedes warranty is worth it, but remember that
car insurance
coverage is also an element of keeping your car protected—and sometimes it comes in handy more than a warranty does.
If you’re worried about damages to your car after things like a collision, theft, or vandalism, you might want to invest in more car insurance coverage rather than a warranty.
