Is the Mazda 3 Hatchback AWD?
I want to get a sporty hatchback and the Mazda 3 Sport Hatchback combines looks and speed at an affordable price. My only issue is that I’m not quite sure if it has all-wheel drive (AWD). Can I get AWD on the Mazda 3 Hatchback?

The
Mazda 3 Hatchback
is not AWD. Unfortunately, it’s the only trim that doesn’t offer AWD as an option (at least on the 2022 model). However, you can get AWD if you choose either the Preferred, 2.5 Turbo, or 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus trims.
On the Preferred and 2.5 Turbo trims, Mazda’s i-ACTIV AWD comes as an optional feature, coming with a price tag of $1,400. AWD is standard on the 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus, which is also the top-tier trim of the Mazda 3 Hatchback in 2022.
If you choose AWD, you’ll get superior handling and on-demand torque and traction, but at the expense of fuel economy. While the standard front-wheel-drive version of the Mazda 3 gets 34 mpg on the highway and 26 mpg in the city, the AWD option boasts 31 mpg on the highway and 25 mpg in the city.
