Is the Ford Focus SE AWD?

Our daughter’s heading to college in the snowy Northeast this fall and we’re looking for a solid used car to send her off in—we told her she’s a grown-up now and can drive herself up to school. The Ford Focus caught our eye—but is it all-wheel drive?

The Ford Focus was last released in 2018, but the SE trim sports front-wheel drive, not all-wheel drive.
Unfortunately, no version of the 2018 Ford Focus offers all-wheel drive. When it was released, you could add a Cold Weather package to both the Focus SE sedan or hatchback—this included heated mirrors, front seats, and steering wheel. You might be able to find a used model with this add-on.
All is not lost though! A comparable alternative with an all-wheel-drive option is the 2018 Ford Fusion**. You’ll find it used for between $14,120 and $17,975, depending on the trim, mileage, and condition of the vehicle. Here are some highlights:
  • Smooth ride and quiet cabin
  • Nimble handling
  • Advanced safety equipment
  • Option of all-wheel drive**.
Since this is a used car, you’ll have to make sure the one you’re eyeing has AWD—it didn’t come standard on the 2018 Fusion.
