Is the 2013 Chevy Spark an electric car?
A friend and I are trying to settle a debate. He says that the 2013 Chevy Spark was an electric car, but I don’t remember that at all. Was the 2013 Spark electric?

This may be surprising to some, but the Chevrolet Spark did have a brief run as an
electric car
. However, the release was only limited to certain localities. If your friend is from California, Oregon or Maine, an EV version of the Spark would have been available there.The Spark EV was GM’s first all-electric car sold in the U.S., but it was a hard sell as it got only 82 miles on a single charge. It sold just 7,400 models during its three-year run.
The Spark EV was eventually discontinued to make room for the Chevy Bolt, which was capable of a much more appealing 238 miles of EPA rated range. The gas-powered Spark stayed in production as Chevrolet’s smallest and most affordable car until it was also discontinued this year.
