Is routine car maintenance tax deductible?

I had to get quite a bit of car maintenance done about two weeks ago. To offset these costs, I wondered if I could write them off on my taxes.

“In most cases, car maintenance is not tax deductible. The only way that it would be tax deductible is if you use your vehicle for business purposes.
For example, if you drive to different job sites or locations while you’re on the clock, that would constitute business purposes for your vehicle. Or if you ran an ice cream van fleet, you could write off the maintenance.
Commuting or personal use doesn’t allow you to write off maintenance on your car. That, your maintenance may be covered by a
used car warranty
in some cases. Most of the time, you’re on the hook for paying your bill. It’s just one of the many common costs of car ownership, just like gas and

.
If you’re looking for ways to save on your car, it’s a good idea to reevaluate your car insurance policy. It could be that you’re overpaying and you don’t know!
The best way to do this is to use the
Jerry
app. Jerry compares rates from the top providers and delivers the best deals to your phone in minutes. Jerry also automatically reviews your policy every six months to make sure you’re getting the lowest rates. And best of all–Jerry does this for free.”
