Is roadside assistance worth it if I'm a fairly handy mechanic?

Is there any value to getting roadside assistance? I'm not a certified mechanic by any means but I know my way around a battery, jack, and flat tire. I've never run out of gas, and I have a spare key hidden in a discreet location.

“While your basic mechanical knowledge will save you time compared to waiting for a roadside assistance technician, don’t neglect the emergency aspect of the situation.
What if you break down in the middle of nowhere? What if your gas gauge fails? What if your spare tire is also flat for whatever reason?
These are just a few reasons why roadside assistance or
towing and labor coverage
is a halfway decent idea.
With just one instance of being stuck, roadside assistance virtually pays for itself.”
