Is renters insurance a utility bill?

I’m trying to get a new car insurance policy. They need proof of my address since I just moved and they’re requesting two utility bills. I have internet in my name, but my landlord pays for everything else. Can I use my renters insurance for a utility bill?

Recently moving can cause issues with new
car insurance
, so it’s common for insurance companies to ask for proof of residency. While renters insurance isn’t a utility bill, you should still be able to use your renters insurance as proof of your address.
Your new insurance company should consider your renters insurance’s policy declaration page as an official document for your residence, as long as your name is listed on the policy and it’s currently effective.
That said, every insurance company is different. If you’re still unsure whether it’s acceptable proof, call your agent or your provider’s customer service department. Insurance underwriting can be tricky, so knowing exactly what you need is essential.
