Is parallel parking on the driving test?

Will I have to parallel park on my driving test? I’m pretty confident about everything else.

It’s great that you’re feeling ready for your test for the most part! If you can get a little more practice in before the test, you should focus on parallel parking—in most states, the dreaded maneuver is a required element on your driving test.
However, parallel parking is not required if your test takes place in the following states:
  • Alabama
  • Arkansas
  • California
  • Colorado
  • Florida
  • Illinois
  • Maryland
  • Nebraska
  • North Carolina
  • Ohio
  • Oregon
  • South Dakota
  • Tennessee
  • Virginia
  • Wyoming
To make sure you’re ready for your driving test, you’ll also have to have car insurance for the vehicle you bring to the test.
