Is my car’s timing belt covered under Hyundai’s warranty?

I just bought a new Hyundai about a year ago, and it seems my timing belt is going out. Is this covered under Hyundai’s warranty?

I’m sorry to hear your timing belt is going out. Unfortunately, a timing belt is considered a wearable item, so it’s not covered under
Hyundai’s
10-year/100,000-mile powertrain limited warranty.
Luckily, timing belts aren’t terribly expensive parts, and they’re fairly simple to replace if you’re at all handy in the garage. If not, you should expect your repair and labor costs to run somewhere between $300 and $500 dollars at a reputable garage.
Even with a great warranty like you get with a new Hyundai, owning a car can sometimes mean unexpected expenses for repairs. To make sure these unexpected expenses are a little easier to take, make sure you’re saving money on another expensive aspect of car ownership—
