Is Kentucky an at-fault state?

I got into a car accident recently and I’m not sure how to make an insurance claim. Is Kentucky considered an at-fault state?

No, Kentucky is not an at-fault state! Rather, it is a
no-fault state
, meaning that by default every driver involved in a car accident will file a claim with their own insurance company rather than with the insurer of the at-fault driver.
This also means that, in Kentucky, part of your required minimum car insurance is **
personal injury protection (PIP) coverage
, which will cover your injuries and the injuries of any passengers in your car after an accident.
If you’d like, however, you can reject Kentucky’s no-fault system. If you choose to do this, you may sue anyone you choose following a car accident in order to get your losses covered by another party. This might be helpful for drivers with minimal or insufficient insurance.
Regardless of how you choose to go about paying your bills after the accident, your
car insurance
premiums will likely increase. To counteract this, check out the
