Is it safe to plug in an electric car overnight?

If I plan on buying an electric car, is it safe to leave the car plugged into the charger overnight, or even for a day or two? Could I potentially be overcharging the battery?

Charging your car at home overnight is a convenient and easy way to refuel, and it’s perfectly safe to do so. The only thing to keep in mind would be possibly charging too much.
The battery of your electric vehicle will perform best if it’s not charged to 100% when you plug it in, but you can easily set a charging limit. With this, the car will automatically stop charging once it has reached your specified threshold.
Like any other electronics with rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, leaving your
electric car
plugged in all the time can slowly corrode the battery’s performance overall, so only charge when necessary.
