Is it illegal to drive without car insurance in Nebraska?

I recently bought a vehicle that actually has Idaho plates. I plan to register it in the state but just use it for driving on my own property. Do I need to purchase car insurance?

“When you register a vehicle in Idaho, you are legally required to purchase car insurance. The penalties for driving without car insurance in Nebraska include:
  • suspension of driving privileges
  • fines and fees of up to $100
If you don’t plan on driving frequently, you may be able to receive a discount on your car insurance premiums.
