Is it illegal to drive without a license in Minnesota?

What are the consequences if I get pulled over without a license? I usually don't drive, but recently I've been needing to take my mom to doctor's appointments.

“Even for short trips, it is illegal to drive on a street or highway in
Minnesota
without a valid driver’s license. The cost of a typical citation for this offense is $200, which includes surcharges.
When driving, also make sure you have valid
car insurance
and that you carry proof of insurance with you in the vehicle.”
