Is it better to be listed as single or divorced for car insurances purposes in Florida?

If I'm divorced, do I register as single or divorced with my car insurance? I recently got divorced and am ready to have my own car insurance policy again. I'm technically divorced, but also considered single.

“Typically, there isn’t any benefit to classifying as single on a car insurance policy as opposed to divorced. Companies will treat the application in a similar way.
Make sure both you and your ex have independent policies in effect before canceling your joint policy to avoid any lapses in coverage.
If there is a lapse, be aware that it is illegal to drive in Florida without the minimum insurance required.”
