Is GEICO car insurance really the cheapest insurance?

I was going to switch insurance companies and got a GEICO quote online, but it was more expensive than I thought it would be. Should I call them or is the online quote accurate?

GEICO
 is known for generally offering affordable car insurance rates, but not every finds the cheapest insurance with GEICO. 
Your online quote is a good starting point, but your rate could change when the company runs your motor vehicle report and claims history.
The other thing that you need to consider: Your coverage limits and deductibles.
  • Is the coverage limit being quoted significantly higher than your current coverage? 
  • Are the deductibles lower? 
  • Is the level of coverage being quoted the right amount of coverage for you?
Remember: GEICO is only one company. If you want to shop for the best rate, it's a good idea to
compare car insurance quotes online
 from at least 3–5 different companies.
