Is driving without a headrest illegal?

Is it illegal for me to drive without a headrest? I broke the headrest on my car and now every time I drive, I’m super paranoid that I’ll get pulled over.

Technically, it is illegal to remove a headrest from your car. However, it’s pretty unlikely that you’ll be pulled over for driving without a headrest.
If you get pulled over for another offense and the officer notices your missing headrest, you might
get a ticket
though.
Purchasing a new headrest could cost you $600 to $800. But you may be able to find a used option at a junkyard or online if you’d like to save some cash.
