Is driving with a bad wheel bearing dangerous?

I was driving the other day when my friend said that it sounded like I had a bad wheel bearing. I’m fairly oblivious to this type of thing. Is it bad if I drive with a bad wheel bearing?

Car maintenance
can always prevent a bad wheel bearing. But driving with a bad wheel bearing is dangerous because the wheel can disconnect from the knuckle. This can send the tire flying off of your car!
If you hear a whizzing, whirring, or other strange noise while you’re driving, make sure to take your car to a mechanic to see if your wheel bearing is to blame.
Driving with bad wheel bearings can put your car in the shop for the foreseeable future. And unfortunately, a car insurance policy won’t cover it if it’s wear and tear. Just make sure that you’re covered in other events by using the
