I’ve never really understood what the difference is between driving on diesel compared to driving petrol. Is driving diesel different than petrol?

Thanks for asking an interesting question. A lot of people only drive petrol and never really wonder what the difference is between the two fuel types.
Interestingly, there is really no major difference between driving diesel or petrol. The only differences are:
  • At gas stations, you will use a different fuel pump.
  • Diesel has lower fuel consumption.
  • Diesel has higher low-speed torque on manual transmissions
Otherwise, they practically drive the same.
