Is driving a truck harder than driving a car?

My parents are talking about giving me their old truck until I’m able to get my own car. It’s pretty big, so it makes me a little nervous. How is driving a truck different than driving a car?

It’s so nice of your parents to let you have their old truck, but I completely understand your concern! In general,
large trucks
are a little bit harder to drive than cars. This is because they are simply larger. Plus, they tend to sit up higher—so as a driver, you do too.
Once you get used to driving a truck, however, it will become much easier. To practice, consider taking it for a drive on less-busy roads. Go very slowly until you get a feel for the new vehicle. You could even ask your parents to go with you and give you pointers.
It’s also a good idea to make sure that you have great car insurance. You can find the best rates for the coverage you need on the
Jerry
app. Get competitive quotes from name-brand providers like Allstate in seconds. And if you ever have any questions, agents are just a text away.
