Is dishwasher insulation necessary?

I had my new dishwasher delivered and it’s wrapped in a blanket. My roommate told me it’s insulation, but I thought it was just for shipping. Is dishwasher insulation necessary?

It’s always exciting to add something new to your home! That sounds like it is probably the dishwasher’s insulation. While dishwasher insulation might not be completely necessary, it’s pretty important when it comes to helping your dishwasher perform at its best.
The insulation itself is usually made from materials like felt, foam, and/or fiberglass. The insulation helps reduce noise and vibrations while the
dishwasher
runs, and it gives your cabinets some protection from heat and
water damage
.
Enjoy your new appliance (and hopefully even cleaner dishes)! Once you’ve taken care of your dishwasher, make sure the rest of your home is covered by the right insurance policy.
