Is biking more dangerous than driving?

Is it more dangerous to bike than it is to drive? I’ve been considering biking to work since it’s better for the environment, but I’m a little scared to be on a bicycle during rush hour. Would I be putting myself at risk?

Biking
to work is a great option if you’re trying to become a little more eco-friendly in the new year. However, biking to work is considered more dangerous than driving for a few reasons.
When you’re on a bike, you’re exposed to the elements. This means that an accident that would barely harm a driver could be very dangerous for a biker. In fact, CNN reported that biking to work resulted in a 45% higher risk of hospital admittance due to injuries than any other method of commuting.
That’s not to say that biking to work isn’t a good idea, though! While you do increase your risk of injury on the road, you also decrease your risk of health-related complications (like stroke, heart attack, or cancer) over time due to the increase in exercise.
Whether you decide to bike to work or drive, you’ll need an insurance policy to keep you safe. The
