Good news! A Toyota certified warranty is transferable.
Officially called the Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) Warranty, Toyota’s warranty is transferable to subsequent owners so long as the original Toyota Certified Used Vehicle Limited Powertrain Warranty is still in effect.
The Toyota CPO warranty includes the following coverages:
12-month/12,000-mile limited warranty
7-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty
That being said, unless you’ve owned your CPO Toyota for less than a year, the buyer won’t be able to take advantage of the 12-month limited warranty. However, the 7-year powertrain warranty should still be in effect for quite a while.
