I’m worried the starter on my new car is already going out. Before I go get it looked at, I need to find out what is and isn’t covered by the warranty. Is the starter covered under Honda’s warranty?
Honda’s factory warranty is bumper-to-bumper and lasts for three years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. However, the warranty does have a few exclusions.
You might have trouble applying your warranty if any of the following is true about your car:
Your car has been registered or driven outside of the U.S. or its territories
Your car has modifications or aftermarket parts that caused the damage
You caused the damage by misuse or abuse of the vehicle, such as by racing it
You (or someone else) tampered with the odometer
Odds are, your warranty will cover the starter if that is indeed the problem through no fault of your own. It’s a good idea to take your vehicle to a Honda service center to inspect the cause of the problem and get it fixed.
While the warranty will take care of failing or faulty parts on your car, it won’t cover damages caused by natural events, theft, vandalism, or collisions. That’s why you need good
