Is a Jeep Renegade lift kit a smart investment?
I just got a new Jeep, and I’d really love to try off-roading. I was wondering, though, if I should make some modifications first. Specifically, I’d like to know if a Jeep Renegade lift kit is a smart investment or if I should just leave it as-is.

If you want to try off-roading, then a Jeep Renegade lift kit is totally worth it! Lift kits can give your vehicle more clearance, making it easier to get over obstacles. Here’s what you need to know:
- Body lift kits are for cosmetic purposes only, and do not create extra ground clearance. This is because you’re lifting the Jeep without adding new shocks.
- Economy/budget boost kits are also almost purely cosmetic but do allow for much larger tires (up to 35”). This type of kit might help on a lighter off-road track, but shouldn’t be used for very rough terrain.
- Coil spring lift kits will give your Jeep 1.5 to 3.5” of additional ground clearance. This is accomplished by replacing your stock springs with longer coil springs.
- Short arm lift kits drastically improve your vehicle’s suspension and allow you to raise it up to six inches.
