Is a gas or electric RC car better?

I’m buying an RC car for my husband’s birthday, because he’s always been interested in them. I looked at his search history, and there are gas and electric RC cars there, and I’m not sure which one is better. Is a gas or electric RC car better?

Great question! Electric RC cars are more durable, faster, and longer lasting than gas powered RC cars. Depending on your husband’s needs, an electric RC car will probably be a good match.
Electric RC Cars are better for speed. Electric RC cars have an average top speed of 35-60+ mph. The fastest battery-powered RC car is currently recorded at 202.02 mph. That’s faster than some
cars
.
Electric RC cars are more durable. With fewer parts to replace or clean, you need to do less checks as well, making it easier to maintain. Gas RC cars are susceptible to leaks, making them prone to breaking down and needing maintenance.
When it comes to run time, an electric RC car has about 10-25 minutes per battery charge, at which point it needs to be charged for at least 45 minutes. Compared to gas, where you just refill and go, this can be a disadvantage if you’re interested in long periods using the car.
Electric
RC cars are often waterproof and crash resistant, with lightweight frame and higher centres of gravity, they are more maneuverable and ready for all terrains (puddles, snow, jumps).
Gas powered RC cars are sensitive to wet terrains, and can even have permanent damage to their internal systems.
Upfront, electric RC cars are more expensive. That’s because the high quality motor costs more than the gas powered motor. However, becuase you don’t have to buy more fuel, just recharge the battery, the price evens out over the long-term.
No matter which RC car you buy, your commuter cars need affordable insurance.
